ACN registration

The Aviation Act stipulates that each airfreight cargo must be accompanied by a safety declaration from the shipper plus a safety declaration from the agent. This has been incorporated in the registration form of the Royal Netherlands Military Constabulary (KMar).

Following the approval from the Ministry for Justice and consultations with the Dutch Association of Transport Users and Transport on Own Account (EVO), ACN (formerly ATAN) set up an Internet system. In this system these shipment-specific declarations are replaced by a one-off annual declaration and the insertion or ticking of a special text on the transport documents.

The registration of known consignors at ACN ends at April 29th, 2013, according to the Regulation (EC) No 300/2008 and its implementing regulations. The new registration will be issued by the Koninklijke Marechaussee.
